Google Calendar connection FAQ
ScheduleOnce has one of the deepest and broadest integration with Google Calendar. We have been working with Google since 2009 and were one of the official launch partners in the Google Apps Marketplace. See the full details of our Google Calendar integration.
If you are new to Google Calendar and need a quick overview, see the Getting started with Google Calendar article.
To connect your Google Calendar, simply go to Integration -> Calendar integration, and click the Connect button. If you access more than one Google account on the browser you are using, be sure you are signed into the Google account with the calendar you want to connect. Google will ask you to authorize the connection. Press Accept and you are done.
Here is a list of the most common questions:
Can I connect to a Google Calendar under a Google ID which is not the ID that I used to sign in?
Sure you can. You can connect to any Google Calendar, regardless of the Google ID that you are using to sign into ScheduleOnce. However, if you installed ScheduleOnce from the Google Apps Marketplace, it is already connected to your Google Calendar in your GAAPS account and there is no way to disconnect or change it.
Can I create a Google Calendar account that does not use a Gmail email address?
Sure you can. You can create a Google Calendar account on any email address. Please follow the instructions in this article.
Can I disable the Google Calendar invite that is sent to my customers?
You can disable the Google Calendar invite email in Configuration -> Booking pages -> Customer notifications, and uncheck the box that sends the Google Calendar invite email. Learn more about the Google Calendar invite.
Can I cancel and reschedule in Google Calendar?
Yes. The ScheduleOnce integration with Google Calendar can be set to allow you to cancel or reschedule directly in your connected calendar, while all bookings remain updated in ScheduleOnce.
How does ScheduleOnce connect with Google Calendar?
ScheduleOnce communicates with the Google Calendar API using a token that is generated by Google and therefore your Google login password is never known to ScheduleOnce. Once a connection is established, ScheduleOnce reads or writes to Google Calendar in real time and no data from Google Calendar is ever saved on our servers.
Can I connect to my Google Apps Calendar?
Sure you can. There is no difference between connecting to a Google Apps Calendar and connecting to a Gmail based Google Calendar.
Do you support Google Apps resource calendars?
Yes, Google Apps resource calendars are fully supported.
I cannot see my Scheduled meeting in Google Calendar
In Google Calendar - Make sure that the calendar in which your meeting was scheduled is selected. Find it in the calendar list in the left bar and click it to select it. You can also select the activity in the ScheduleOnce Activity stream and click it to see a direct link to the Google Calendar event on the right hand pane.
Why do my busy times appear in wrong hours on ScheduleOnce?
This is due to time zone differences between the Account time zone in your Google Calendar and the time zone on your Booking page. To change the time zone:
- In ScheduleOnce: Go to the time zone subsection in the Availability section on your Booking page, select the new time zone and save.
- In Google Calendar:Click on Settings -> Calendar settings. At the top of the Google Calendar page, select the new time zone and save.
Reload/refresh the ScheduleOnce page to reflect the change.
I’m already connected with one Google account. How do I switch to another?
The simplest way to switch between accounts is to disconnect your calendar on the Integration-->Calendar integration page, log out of your Google account, log back in with the new Google account and reconnect it with ScheduleOnce. Note that you can switch your calendar connection accounts without having to switch your login account.
I cannot connect - what should I do?
This may be due to temporary communication problems with the Google Calendar API. Please try the following:
- Make sure cookies are enabled on your browser
- Verify that you can login to your Google or Google Apps account
- Try to connect again from ScheduleOnce
If you’re still having problems, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
