Understanding calendar connection

Last Updated: Apr 04, 2012 12:17PM EEST
ScheduleOnce connects to your calendar, it does not sync with your calendar. What is the difference?

Syncing is between two identical elements, in this case it would be between two calendars and syncing will make the same information available in both elements.

However, ScheduleOnce is not a calendar and for this reason it does not sync with your calendar as another calendar would do, but rather, it works with your calendar in two critical points:

  • ScheduleOnce reads busy time from your calendar in real time. ScheduleOnce can treat busy time as blocking or non blocking. Please see the article about understanding busy time behavior for more information.
  • When a meeting is scheduled via ScheduleOnce it will be automatically created in your calendar.

Important: Since ScheduleOnce does not sync with your calendar, meetings that were scheduled in ScheduleOnce before you connected your calendar will not show in your calendar.
