Some activity scheduling examples:
- A recruiter is visiting a client and needs to fill her calendar with candidate interviews.
- A product manager needs to schedule product demonstrations with ten customers
- A university professor needs to schedule 15 minutes review sessions with each one of the students
Since in activity scheduling you typically allocate a block of time for the activity, it is best to use Appointment mode but it is not a must. In Appointment mode people click your personal link, select a time and the appointment is automatically scheduled.
Take the following steps to customize your inbound settings for activity scheduling:
1. Switch to Appointment mode in Inbound setting > General. If your calendar is not connected you will be prompted to connect it. Since scheduling in appointment mode is automatic your calendar must be connected in Blocking mode in order to avoid double booking. When your calendar is connected in Blocking mode, the timeslot associated with a scheduled appointment will be immediately made unavailable, eliminating any chance of double booking. See the Understanding busy time article to learn more about busy time behavior.
2. Since in activity scheduling you typically allocate a block of time for the activity, it is best to use date-specific availability only. Simply erase your recurring availability and save. Then go to date-specific availability and mark the desired time block. See the Inbound settings availability article for more information.
3. Update your personal details to reflect your activity. See the Personal information article for more information.
4. Review the rest of the General settings for final adjustments. More information can be found in the Inbound settings - General article.
Run through a quick test to make sure that everything is exactly like you want it.
