MeetMe settings - Booking

Last Updated: May 12, 2012 05:25PM EEST
Here we explain each one of the settings in the Booking section of the MeetMe page.

Automatic booking: Use this mode when you want scheduling to take place automatically. You can use it for customer appointments and even for one on one meetings when there is no need for you to confirm the time before it is scheduled. Automatic booking requires a connected calendar and you should also select the calendar in which appointments will be scheduled. Appointment scheduling is completely automatic, once you set it up there is no further action that you need to take.

Booking with Approval
:
Use this mode when you want to stay in control and select the meeting time. It is good to use Booking with approval when you don't want to update your availability on a frequent basis, or when your availability is not accurate. It is also good to use this mode when your calendar is not connected with ScheduleOnce or if you have no calendar at all. The higher the number of required time selections, the more flexibility you will have when scheduling the meeting. If you work in the Booking with approval mode without connecting your calendar you can make all availability adjustments in the Availability section.

Event duration: If you want to allow the other party to select the duration simply define the range and select the default value that you want to use. If you want to set the event duration as fixed, set the same duration in each selection box.

Enable time zone support: Check this box to turn on time zone support. If your scheduling happens in a single time zone only you can leave this box unchecked.

Advanced settings

Avoid last minute surprises: This setting determines how soon people can see you as available relative to the time in which they interact with your inbound page. This setting provides for a lot of flexibility, ranging from a few minutes to a few days. It all depends on what you are scheduling.

Show time slots starting at: You can control when time slots can be displayed on your MeetMe page – Whether at 00, 15, 30 or 45 minutes on the hour.

Available timeslots per day: This setting limits the maximum number of available time slots per day. There are two main uses for this setting:

  • When you want to spread your appointments so that they don’t all happen in the same day
  • When you are just getting started. No one wants to eat in an empty restaurant...

If you don’t want this setting to affect you simply set it to the maximum, All time slots, and it will not constrain the number of time slots that people can see.

Disable the Google invite email that is sent to your users: When your Google Calendar is connected Google automatically sends out a Google Calendar invite email to your users when a booking is made. There are a number of reasons to disable the Google Calendar invite email. For example, if you are creating MeetMe pages for others, if you are connecting ScheduleOnce to non Google Calendars, or if you are working with time zones. See the disable Google Calendar invite email article to learn about the reasons to disable the Google Calendar invite email.
